Darfur rebel confident he will not face trial

Darfur rebel chief Bahar Garda killed 12 Union peacekeepers and seriously wounded eight others in 2007. The court now has 60 days to decide whether or not they want to confirm the charges against him, and start a trial. Even though he has committed these horrendous crimes, he says that he feels confident that he will not face trial. He and his lawyer believe this because the charges against him are bad enough to be put on trial. The prosecutor, Luis Moreno-Ocampo, wants him to be charged because he believes that , “Attacking peacekeepers is one of the most serious crimes in the world.” The UN estimates more than 300,000 people have been killed in Darfur, since the conflict began in 2003.
I believe this man should defiantly be found guilty. He committed a terrible crime and he should have to suffer the consequences. The worst part of this whole article for me is that he doesn’t even seem to feels bad about what he has done. It also mentions in the article that family and friends of the victims will be at the hearing. I hope for their sake that this man is found guilty so that they can have some peace knowing that this man is no longer a threat to other peace keepers.

I agree and think this man should definitely be found guilty because he killed peace keepers.
