Pakistan since July has been being hit with floods, and from this these floods are causing major problems to the people on the land. Some of the problems include disease from several sources including contaminated water, and they are also having food insecurities since crop has been destroyed in large amounts. Some of the other major social problems that are occurring in Pakistan right now also include; malnourishment, disruption of health care, and food insecurity being the top problem at this time. UN agencies are working had to help resolve this problem for the over 4.5 million people that are being affected from the post flood conditions. Over a 1,000 tons have been sent to be given to the people that need the medicine. The UN and partners are now working to set up disaster relief for natural disasters like this one, they are trying to reduce avoidable death and illness for everyone in Pakistan. What the UN and other agencies are doing post this disaster are very good, they are now trying to build up a system to help to prevent a global problem like this to happen again, although they cannot stop the natural disaster they can help to support the systems such as the medical system. They are working towards helping to reduce the social problems in the region such as widespread illness and malnutrition. The UN and other organizations are really working towards fixing this problem and are working towards prevention also, which is something that is completely necessary.

I am so glad to hear that the UN is trying to fix this problem in the Pakistan area. It gives hope to these troubled civilization. Pakistan obviously has major social issues, but the UN is trying very hard to fix it by sending medicine, and food. With the floods effecting the area so badly, illness and death have spread due to the insanitary water, and the overwhelming water flow. Although much more has to be done, it is very reliving to know that something is being done, and the world is helping others.
