Myanmar monks remain defiant

Last August, the Myanmar monks protested the government, 400 Buddhist monks walked the streets of Yangon to protest the military junta's alleged use of violence against Buddhist monks.

“A 24-year-old monk who organized the first protest, says the monks hopes had been buoyed by the international attention last year's protests received and he is ready to spread the word again once the protests resume.

The protesters are being beaten, tortured and killed for protesting against the military.

An activist, code name, Phoenix says, "Eventually, our own people will have to decide our own future. There will be time when all people, all the citizens of Burma, will stand up and say something against the government. There will be time, I believe.” about the government and the protesters.

The protest of the Burmese monks and the military has been going on for a year now but the issues with the junta government have been for 45 years. I think it is against our given human rights to not be able to protest and have a freedom of speech.
