Climate Change May be Culpable in Diseases in the Philippines

On Thursday, politicians in Manila believe the recent outbreak of diseases may be related to global warming. Many believe the temperature increase is making communicable diseases easy to spread among humans. So far, these diseases are manageable so long as people practice safe hygiene. Those who are sick are immediately treated at the hospital. This week the Filipino Red Cross has confirmed three deaths, and about 2,000 have been stricken with gastroenteritis. Earlier they believed it to be cholera, but it was quickly refuted. Both illnesses have similar symptoms, and came from contaminated drinking water.
The head of the government's National Epidemiology Centre has announced an outbreak of typhoid near the capital, although there have no reported deaths as of yet.
This is the reality we are facing. Global warming doesn't necessarily mean submerged cities or deserts but also increase in the outbreak of diseases. The adverse effects manifesting themselves prove that while global warming is causing a lot of problems here on Earth they do not necessarily mean they apply only to the environment. It could possibly affect business as well in the near future!

It's scary that in harming the environment, people are esstentially harming themselves. I didn't realize that as a result of global warming, communicable diseases can be spread. I'm sure this will make people think twice about how they choose to treat the environment, because the effects are hitting closer to home.
