There has been a great determination to find alternative energy sources. In an effort to make hydrogen as a clean alternative fuel source, researchers are diligent on creating usable hydrogen that is clean and sustainable that could be used to power vehicles as opposed to petroleum.
Researchers have discovered that the process of photosynthesis may function as a clean, sustainable source of hydrogen. From certain blue green algae that favors warm temperatures coupled with a platinum catalyst a certain amount of hydrogen can be used as power supply.
They could sustain the reaction at temperatures as high as 55 degrees C, or 131 degrees F. That is roughly the temperature in arid deserts with high solar irradiation, where the process would be most productive. They also found the process was more than 10 times more efficient as the temperature increased.
I believe that this is a great setp forward in energy and technology that if continued to be studied and built upon could reduce out dependence on petroleum as a leader in energy and power.

I like this Hydrogen journey towards energy. I like it because I would like the majority of the world to be off of petroleum. Simply because it is cleaner. I feel like the world feels like it has to have oil to function when if we move towards using it for lesser things then we will have enough to last for more important things its used for. I think it is smart to work with what you have even though when it boils down to it I am moving on the first shuttle to space. Hopefully, this lead towards hydrogen will be a hit and not seen as a threat to oil. once its seen as a threat to oil, often times the research goes missing. Very peculiar.
