In the UK a 16 year old boy is being accused of raping two young boys. His first victim was a 7 year old boy, who he kidnapped; he admitted to doing so. After being released for this, 8 days later…he raped another boy, who is 5. On July 4, 2009 he lured the young boy by asking him to help look for a football. After this he kidnapped him, took him to his home and abused him. The attacker also admitted to this; child abduction, rape and causing a child to engage in sexual activity. This attack apparently happened after he was given a community order, for the rape of the first victim. After his second attack the attacker was given an indeterminate sentence for protection from the public. The attacker must serve a minimum of five years, minus 4 days that he was already in custody; before being considered for parole. The judge over this case, Judge Peter Lakin stated (speaking to the attacker), “The offences you have committed are deeply disturbing and very serious.” He also said that the attacker was manipulative, with unhealthy and unacceptable sexual interests in young boys. The attacker was resentenced for the first rape and will serve 3 years and 4 months, he is also placed on the Sex Offenders Register. During the sentencing of the first rape, it was said that the victims’ family was considered because of their strong religious beliefs; they forgave him.
I think this is absolutely horrible; a child is raping another child. And I do agree, it’s disgusting. I personally think he should be punished as an adult. Especially since after being released on his first rape, he goes out and rapes another boy. Clearly, there’s something mentally wrong with the attacker. As said in the article, rape is rape…no matter how old you are. It’s a horrific crime. It just saddens me that someone so young thinks to do such a horrible act, especially to innocent children. I think he deserves way more than 3 years in jail because if someone older committed the same exact crime, he would have gotten way more than 3 years.

He either needs to be sentenced longer, or they need have him in an institution where he is incapable of harming children and where his mental issues can be addressed. Obviously he has a lot of problems either from his past or currently or both if he is raping people at all, especially so close to his own age.
Wow. This kid is only 16 years old and has raped two children. I feel like they should do something to see if he has some sort of physiological problems that would make him do things like this. For it to happen again eight days after being released from the first case it seems like it would be highly possible for it to happen again a third time.
I think it is sad how young this kid is and that the authorities are being so calm on the case(s). I agree with Alexa J, however I feel he needs to be in an institution more than in jail for a longer period of time. I think there is more to the story that isn't being released to the press. Also, how can the family forgive him for raping a younger child? That I find extremely sick, I do give a flying flip what religion a person is... rape is rape and there is no words that can replace the emotional and physical impact it has on the victim.
