Gender-test runner Semenya to keep gold medal, says South Africa
This is a follow up to a story I did a few weeks ago. There is a South African runner who was forced to submit to a test after it was found out that she may have both male and female reproductive organs. After the test, it was found out that she would be allowed to hold onto her medal which leads people to question the results of the test which won’t be found out until a later date. They have said that for now the results will be between Semenya and her doctor until it’s ready to be released. Also, it was said that the tests conducted between the IAAF and Semenya are within legal rights.
I really feel bad for this woman because she’s being forced to go through all this stuff just because she has to go through all of this basically because she was “too” fast. Like seriously, why is that such a big problem? Is it really an issue if she runs fast? Is it an issue is she was born with both parts because although it’s not common, if we live in world where it’s really that much of an issue, there’s no point in judging her on something she had no control of. If she’s found in violation of the rules because she has high levels of testosterone in her system and she has to give back her medal just because she’s a hermaphrodite, that’s an example of injustice.

I'm glad she got to keep her medal! I was pulling for her through the whole thing.
