Iran is violating human rights again...or still. The UN is totally ticked off. Iran apparently used excessive violence against protesters who were trying to express their opinions about the June elections. Many believed that the election was rigged and so they began steet rallies and protests. 4,000 people got arrested. 140 people were shown on television and described as trying to take a soft overthrow of the government. Once again we see a country that is using harassment, intimidation and persecution against people with a different opinion. Many are detained, others disappear. This is the 22nd time that the UN has tried to address Iran's human rights violations.
Okay so as I've been writing these blogs throughout the semester, one thing is becoming clear to me; people suck. The violations of human rights are seemingly never ending and happening all over the world. I don't understand how people can treat one another in such horrible ways. The one thing that catches my attention the most is that they often talk about people "disappearing". I can only imagine what happened to them. ::shudder:: Its terrible.

You had me when you said "people suck". But Iran will continue to violate civil and human rights, I wonder what can be done to stop it. Good post.
