A Texas woman has done the unthinkable. The woman lied about having breast cancer and proceeded to raise a lump sum of $10,000 at a benefit for her. She then took the money and used it to have her breasts enlarged. Trista Joy Lathern, the woman charged with theft by deception, even went to the extent of shaving her entire head to appear as a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy. When asked why she would do such a thing, Lathern replied that she wanted the implants to try to save her seven-month marriage.
I think this is an absolutely horrible thing to do. I don’t understand how any sane person could have such a cold heart to actually go through with such an selfish scam. There is no excuse for this type of behavior and severe disciplinary action should be taken. In addition to this, the reasoning behind this act only makes the situation worse.

OMG! That's terrible! It's a shame that she would be willing to go to that extent just to alter her image. Like you said, it's selfish. So many people are suffering from cancer, and just to know that she would be willing to fake it is absurd.
When I read this I thought WOW!!! Does this woman not realize how serious breast cancer is in today's time? How could you use an issue that has killed thousands of women to scam people in giving you money to turn into breast implants. If your seven month old marriage needs saving by you in turn getting breast implants, you do not have something worth saving. Going to the extent of shaving your head which to me is a slap in the face to all women who have unwantingly lost their hair due to chemotherapy. This woman should be sentenced to paying 10,000 dollars in damages to a breast cancer research facility, and many volunteer hours benefiting breast cancer victims.
Its amazing what people will do to make a marriage last. People must really not understand the consequences of their actions. There are actual women who have breast cancer who want implants not to save their marriage but to save their lives (as in not looking sick or image)
