social networking... stealing? blog 6

A European law student is accusing Facebook of collecting various data from its users without their permission. The student, who has been been on Facebook since 2008. Says that Facebook collects data and also market that data to advertising agencies. The law student made a website called "Europe Versus Facebook". It was made in a effort to get Facebook to give up the information they had gathered over the years to anyone who wanted it.

The social problem in this article is that the individuals right to confidentiality is being negated. Facebook and other social networking sites are collecting it's user's actions, and locations without permission of the user. Privacy concerns are now higher, and people are upset that their information is given up to a 3rd party. This really makes a lot of people start to think, how many people have already had there information took? Being that Facebook had 850 million users, people are now careful with what goes on the pages now.
