This article talks about the importance of immigration to the state of Minnesota. “According to the business coalition report if immigrants were removed from the labor force, Minnesota would lose over 24,000 permanent jobs and 1.2 billion in personal income”. This in turn illustrates how much removing these workers would affect that state’s economy. This analysis and opinion was strongly backed up by professors, business leaders and Mexican government officials. Some people involved in the labor force of Minnesota expressed their need for young workers and their concern with the federals laws that slow immigration down. This is something that does not benefit anybody since foreign “born people account for the majority of new Minnesota workers”. The suggestion that the authors of the report gave was for federal officials to “reform immigration laws, including granting more visas so immigrants can fill open jobs. At the same time, the report says, the state must improve immigrants' high school graduation rates and should provide more job-training programs”.

I thought this article was interesting because it gave the side of the people, besides immigrants themselves that are being directly affected by the implementation of federal laws. These are people that are able to recognize the benefits of having a immigrant population. They are being force by the reality to see (to a smaller scale) the effects that the United States will experience if they keep persistent with their policies. While this article still focuses on how United States benefits from immigration, it adopts a more mutual beneficial approach as appose to a selfish one. So their suggestions of how to solve the problem and everybody gets something out of this movement are more rational and human.
